Jeri' Avery graduated from Walnut Hills High School this spring, and joined the Mack's laboratory. She will be attending the University of Cincinnati this fall studying neuroscience. She describes her work in at UC as follows:

This summer I am working on the water assisted reduction of unsaturated bonds specifically focusing on the reduction of carbonyl groups to its corresponding alcohols. There was previous work down in the Mack lab that focused on reducing aldehydes. This summer I am researching whether or not the same thing can be done with ketones.
